Thompson & Parkes retains ‘Best Builders Merchant and DIY Supplier in the Midlands’ title

Thompson & Parkes, one of the longest established and best-known local builders’ merchants in Worcestershire and Shropshire, has retained its title of ‘Best Builders Merchant & DIY Supplier in the Midlands’ in this year’s SME News Magazine’s 2021 UK Enterprise Awards.

The SME UK Enterprise Awards recognise SMEs of all sizes across the UK and are given solely on merit and awarded to commend those most deserving for their ingenuity and hard work, distinguishing them from their competitors and proving them worthy of recognition.

Company director Jean Morris said: “We are delighted to have retained the title of Best Builders Merchant & DIY Supplier in the Midlands.

“Trading throughout the pandemic has been, and continues to be, challenging for everyone, no matter the industry or profession. Thank you to our wonderful and dedicated team who ensure we carry on trading and supporting so many other key local businesses, and local people, and it’s through their dedication that we have retained this award, and I thank each and every one of them for everything they do.”

Thompson & Parkes employs more than 20 local people and has been trading within Worcestershire and Shropshire for more than 80 years supplying to the building trade and DIY market. In addition, the business invests in the community through partnerships with local schools and nurseries and supports local charities and community initiatives by raising funds for deserving local causes.

Award co-ordinator Jessie Wilson said: “One of the joys of these awards is realising the sheer talent and skill that permeates every inch of the British business sphere, across all industries and fields.”

Thompson & Parkes provide a full range of building, timber, landscaping and plumbing products via their Kidderminster and Oreton branches and offers a full Dulux paint mixing and colour match service via their Stourport shop open 6-days a week supplying DIY, decorating and gardening tools and accessories.
