Tees Valley to welcome major business showcase

01st Jul

The General Election will not deter businesses in Tees Valley from seizing opportunities to network, generate new business leads, and seek support this week.

The Tees Valley Business Summit, delivered by business support organisation UMi, will take place on July 4 at Teesside University Olympia Building.

As the largest business showcase and conference in Tees Valley – a region contributing £79bn to the UK economy – this event promises a full agenda of valuable sessions. Key speakers from the Tees Valley Business Board, the Combined Authority, the British Business Bank, and Innovation SuperNetwork will cover topics ranging from new support and funding opportunities to strategies for attracting new investors.

Speakers will explore various important topics, with the Ethical Coaching Company providing insight on fostering a culture of collaboration among SME leaders, while Yellow Box Marketing will demystify digital marketing for small businesses.

With an expected attendance of 800 delegates and more than 100 exhibitors, this free-to-attend event offers numerous networking opportunities and is not to be missed.

Nicki Clark, chief executive of UMi, said: “We are delighted to be delivering the Tees Valley Business Summit again this year, with an agenda packed with insight and learning for business leaders across the region to help them do more and go further.

“The future of small business is an important topic as people head to the polls, and our partners will be on hand to support, advise and connect with business leaders on a range of topics. We can’t wait to meet with the delegates and organisations that are striving for the best for Teesside.”

The summit is backed by key regional partners, including headline sponsor British Business Bank, alongside support from Tees Valley Business, North East Enterprise Agency and Innovation SuperNetwork.

Shelley Armstrong, head of communications and engagement at Innovation SuperNetwork, said: “The Tees Valley Business Summit is the biggest showcase and conference event in the region, and we are really excited to be involved this year.

“We’ll be talking to the 800 plus businesses in attendance about how Innovation SuperNetwork can connect businesses in North East England with the opportunities, finance and support they need to innovate and grow.

“We’ll also be promoting Tees Valley Securing Investment, a programme we are delivering on behalf of Tees Valley Combined Authority that offers dedicated support to help Tees Valley businesses access funding opportunities.

“Our innovation and investor relations manager, Karl Murray, will be delivering an investment workshop on how to prepare and persuade investors and we would encourage any businesses to join our session.”
