Printing perfection

imageData Group are far more than a printers, they are a full solution provider, says Joanne Johnson.

What type of printing can imageData Group (iDG) provide?

There is very little that iDG can’t print, anything from a postage stamp to a building wrap, from one copy to hundreds of thousands on a wide range of substrates. Over three sites, we have the latest technology in digital and litho print production.

How have you found the printing industry over the past 18 months?

It’s been a struggle, with many clients closing stores and facilities and not requiring promotional or marketing print. Fortunately, our markets are diverse and we have weathered the storm.

Has the move to online selling had an impact on print?

Most certainly, although where we can, we engage with our clients and provide online solutions via our experienced IT team. All our systems are bespoke and developed to meet the exacting needs of individual client requirements. We can work with client data in any format.

Did Covid hit your business?

Certainly, but it gave us the opportunity to revaluate our business and make strategic changes that we may not have made otherwise. We also used the government incentives and our time wisely to make some significant investments. We are coming out of the other side a slicker and more profitable organisation while remaining financially stable.

What are your personal expectations at iDG?

I intend to grow with the business, introducing my contacts while at the same time increasing my print knowledge and experience. I am looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead with such a forward-thinking and dynamic company.

In which directions do you see the print industry growing?

I believe there will be a decline as new technologies such as the internet and digital print reduce the volumes required. There’s also the environmental impact of reducing the use of paper-based substrates. However, I think there will always be print in some form. This is a time when printers that don’t adapt and look at new markets will fall by the wayside. Fortunately for iDG we are so much more than just a printer. We are a full solution provider from concept to delivery.
