The joint managing director of a leading Hull-based digital label printing firm is to run 10 marathons in 10 days in aid of the charity, P.A.U.L For Brain Recovery.
Starting on August 26, Matt Dass, of Springfield Solutions, will take on the challenge to mark 10 years since the charity’s founder, Paul Spence, suffered a brain injury.
The charity provides support and guidance for people affected by acquired brain injuries (ABIs). This includes a range of support plans applicable to the individual such as one-to-one support, group activities, family support workshops and health and wellbeing activities.
To mark 10 years since his brain injury, Paul will also be running 100 miles along the Yorkshire Wolds Way. Leaving Filey on September 3, he will be running through the night before joining about 150 P.A.U.L For Brain Recovery supporters taking part in the charity’s annual run on September 4, starting from Bilton Village Hall.
This run will complete Paul’s 100-mile challenge, and he will be joined by Matt, so they can complete the last leg of their challenges together.
A spokesman for the charity said: “Your donation helps provide the support and guidance that individuals deserve after brain injury. You will be helping provide a positive future for both individuals and families who are affected. Every single penny raised makes a real difference and without it, the charity would not be able to continue to provide a lifeline to those who need it the most.”
