Alessandro Caruso Architecture & Interiors Ltd (ACA) has been awarded the World Design Award 2023 in Design Concept (Architecture).
The World Design Awards acknowledge exceptional concepts that revolutionise architectural design by incorporating innovative technologies, materials, programmes, aesthetics and spatial arrangements. Additionally, they delve into studies on globalisation, flexibility, adaptability and the digital revolution.
ACA’s award entry showcased its design of a Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) on behalf of Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust, which is one of the first of its kind in the country.
The project specifications called for a cutting-edge, top-tier focal point to regenerate Scunthorpe town centre, serving as a comprehensive facility offering convenient access to a variety of diagnostic tests in proximity to residents’ homes, minimising the need for hospital visits.
Alessandro Caruso, managing director of ACA, says: “At ACA, our mission is to create happier and healthier environments that enhance quality of life. Having personally witnessed the transformative impact of well-being-focused designs in improving individuals’ experiences, I am excited to see our vision come to life. I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to all members of our team for their diligent and hardworking contributions.”
Amelia Caruso, client services director at ACA, added: “I want to express immense gratitude to our entire team for their dedicated efforts. This award holds significant meaning for us, marking a major milestone.
“To be able to compete alongside many globally renowned architecture firms has been an honour but we are especially thankful to showcase our local area and promote Scunthorpe on a broader scale.”
Sarah Howson, communications officer, Northern Lincolnshire & Goole NHS Foundation Trust, said: “It’s incredible that the Community Diagnostic Centre has won such a prestigious award, among the world’s biggest architecture firms around the globe… and it isn’t even built yet!”
