Largest property sale of the year ‘a resounding success’

20th Nov

In the largest property sale of 2019, this month’s auction proved yet again that buying and selling via this route is a successful way to achieve strong results, according to Auction House Hull and East Yorkshire.
With 17 lots going under the hammer at the Attractions restaurant at Beverley Racecourse, it was a very busy auction room and raised just short of £1m for sellers.
Buyers also picked up some great properties at competitive prices – with 71% of properties selling on the night, and with interest in unsold lots post-auction.
It was the sixth and final auction for Auction House Hull and East Yorkshire in 2019 and provided another strong and diverse mix of residential and commercial property with a good range of investment properties and development opportunities, including flats, houses and shops across the region.
The results showed that the auction room is continuing to prove a successful route for buyers and sellers, despite political and economic uncertainties. Simon Dee MRICS, business development partner at Auction House, said: “It was our largest collection of lots both in terms of guide values and the number of lots offered. It was a packed auction room and really was a great way to round off what has been a very busy year from our auction department. The very nature of selling property at auction finds buyers quickly and enables sellers to turn property assets into cash without delay.”
The local estate agents and auctioneers are part of the multi-award-winning national Auction House network, which sees regional agents selling properties on their doorsteps while using the strong brand for national coverage.
Simon added: “Through our auction rooms we are proving that despite media reports of problems in the property market as a whole we are continuing to buck the trend. The auctions market is still busy and delivering strong results. The stock being offered is very diverse, and with the higher number of lots we are now listing, buyer opportunities are greater than ever before.”
