KRL and Konica Minolta celebrate 35 years of success

05th Oct

As Konica Minolta’s longest-running mainland UK print partner, KRL, based in Malmo Road, has delivered it products along with dedicated service and support since its inception in 1985.
George Baker (above), managing director of KRL, said: “We are excited and proud to be celebrating 35 years as a Konica Minolta partner. As a business we have a close and friendly relationship with our customers, built upon offering the best products and delivering expert support, which is reflected in our close long-term partnership with Konica Minolta.”
David Thompson, channel sales director at Konica Minolta, said: “George and his team have a well-deserved reputation for offering great service and a friendly and helpful support to their customers. In an industry that is built upon personal relationships and trust, KRL is the perfect partner for Konica Minolta in the region. We congratulate George and the team on this very impressive anniversary.”
Having become the sole owner in a management buyout in 2009, George has led KRL to become a leading business print and copier specialist in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire. As a service-lead five-star Konica Minolta accredited partner, the business has more than 170 years of collective specialist engineer experience and boasts an impressive staff retention record, with 50% of them having worked for KRL for more than 20 years.
George added: “This has been a challenging year for everyone in the print industry, but already we have returned to 75-80% of our business in the new normal. By leveraging our close working relationship with Konica Minolta, we will continue to support our customers across the North Lincolnshire/East Yorkshire region, as they embrace the return to operations.
“Economic pressures and competition mean it’s more important than ever to provide comprehensive and locally based fully managed support, as well as exceptionally reliable products and attractive pricing. Our customers are very vocal on the tangible benefits of using Konica Minolta’s products, so with our continued close partnership I am confident this will cement our excellent reputation and business growth into the future.”
Cameron Mitchell, partner channel business unit leader at Konica Minolta, said: “KRL and Konica Minolta have enjoyed a close relationship for many years and our businesses are totally aligned. KRL is, in many ways, an extension of the Konica Minolta’s brand and their loyalty and commitment is greatly appreciated. George has built a fantastic reputation and we are proud to work with KRL as their manufacturer of choice.”
