Home Group named among top workplaces for seventh year

24th Mar

For the seventh year in a row, one of the North East’s largest employers has been named among the top 10 best places to work in the UK.

Newcastle-based housing association Home Group placed ninth in the UK’s Best Workplaces, as part of the 2025 Great Places to Work survey.

The housing association, which has more than 15,000 homes in the region, has been named in the top 10 since 2018.

Vicki Carruthers, director of people at Home Group, said: “We are very proud to have been named among the top 10 places to work once again, our seventh year placing this high in the Great Places to Work survey.

“What makes this accolade even more important is that it comes directly from survey scores from our colleagues. There is no judging panel or submission to decide our Great Place to Work score; it is based on honest feedback from our staff.

“That is why our score is an achievement we should all be very proud of as an organisation, but we also know that we cannot become complacent.

“The reason we have managed to remain in the top 10 since 2018 is because we are always looking for new ways to improve, listening and learning from our colleagues.”

Home Group was the highest ranked North East-based employer across organisations with more than 200 colleagues.

It was also the highest placed charitable organisation and the only housing association to make the prestigious list.

The Best Workplaces awards were created by Great Places to Work, with the aim to help businesses create high-performing workplaces where employees feel valued and trusted. The award recognises the best super-large, large, medium and small workplaces in the UK.
