The team at Pride in Hull has announced that Ash Palmisciano will co-host and meet and greet guests at Pride in Hull 2023.
Pride in Hull, which this year is taking place on July 29, is the Humber region’s leading advocate for LGBTQ+ rights and inclusion.
Actor, speaker, and presenter Ash Palmisciano has made a significant impact on the entertainment industry through his groundbreaking portrayal of Matty Barton, the first transgender character in ITV soap Emmerdale.
Beyond his acting career, Ash passionately advocates for diversity and inclusion. As a patron of Diversity Role Models, he actively supports its mission of promoting positive LGBTQ+ role models in schools and communities. Ash has also shared his inspiring insights on platforms such as TEDx with his talk, “Why Your Truth Is Your Superpower,” which can be found on YouTube.
Ash said: ”I’ve always heard good things about Hull, but I haven’t had the opportunity to spend much time in this vibrant city. I am truly looking forward to meeting and greeting local people and joining Andy Train on stage to welcome the lineup of performers.”
Jamie Lewis, chairman of Pride in Hull, said: “We are delighted to welcome Ash Palmisciano as a co-host for Pride in Hull 2023. His professional talent, advocacy, and dedication to LGBTQ+ representation align perfectly with the spirit of our event. We believe that Ash’s presence will make a significant impact and further amplify the message of love, acceptance and equality that Pride in Hull stands for.
“This year’s Pride event is very different. The team is excited that it will actually be everywhere in Hull – Access All Areas. Our main stage, for our headline act, Boney M, will be Zebedees Yard, which is one of the best gig spaces we have. We are excited to bring the usual glitter, entertainment and excitement to our stage.
“It’s all happening from 12pm until 6pm on Saturday, July. 29 This is a free event and no tickets required – the only thing we ask is you don’t bring your own alcohol, or anything that could hurt someone else.”
The event will feature a vibrant parade, engaging performances and a variety of activities that promote the ongoing campaign across the whole of the UK.
