C4DI move for growing Hull recruitment firm

05th Nov

Bosses at GB Recruitment IT believe that being based at Hull’s hub for tech innovation is the ideal location for them to continue to expand and develop their team.
Antonio Tombanane, managing director, said: “I see this as a huge step in the right direction for GB Recruitment. GB have witnessed tremendous growth with an increase of over 40% in revenue. Finding the right creative space in which my team could continue to grow was extremely important to me.”
GB IT has moved from strength to strength in the past year, securing a host of new clients including De Beers, Capita, Crown Commercial Services, NFU Mutual and more.
The company, which marked its third year in May, has taken on two new recruits in the past year alone, with plans to expand the team by an additional three members in the new year. Its staff engagement programme includes flexible working hours, quarterly lunch clubs and Beer Fridays – time set aside to celebrate the team’s weekly achievements.
The new office will promote an open-plan working environment and well as stunning views over the Fruit Market area.
David Keel, chairman of C4DI, said: “The remarkable growth of the digital tech sector in Hull, recognised nationally by the government’s Tech Nation Report, has in turn generated fresh activity in a whole range of other associated industries including bars, restaurants, retail and, of course, recruitment. This tech/digital industry success in our wonderful city has led to a large increase in exciting job opportunities and the recognition of this by GB IT is further proof of this exciting progress.”
Last month, the firm organised Hull’s first dedicated Tech Expo, which attracted more than 2,000 people over two days. Planning for the 2020 expo is already under way, with the firm promising an even bigger and better event.
John Gouldthorp, asset manager for Wykeland Group, owner of C4DI, said: “We’re pleased that Hull’s only specialist tech recruiter has chosen to relocate to C4DI to be at the heart of Hull’s digital community and provide a platform for further growth.”
