Bluestorm appoints Dan Murphy as director of digital

21st Jun

Bluestorm Design and Marketing has appointed Dan Murphy to its board as director of digital.

The appointment recognises Dan’s achievement in the role of head of digital since July 2020, and the central importance of web development and digital marketing to Bluestorm’s future success.

Andy Cawley, agency director, said: “The pandemic has only served to accelerate the digitalisation of integrated marketing and communications. Our website development and digital marketing teams have expanded as a result, and it makes good sense that this crucial part of our business is properly represented in our senior leadership team of directors.

“We are delighted therefore to promote Dan, who has done a fantastic job of leading the team through a period of significant growth and challenge. It’s especially pleasing because Dan is a graduate of our own trainee programme – who joined us straight from university in 2013. Congratulations, Dan!”

Hull-born and bred, Dan attended Sydney Smith School and Wyke College before graduating with a degree in marketing at the University of Hull. He joined Bluestorm in 2013 as a trainee digital marketing consultant and, apart from a short break to try out an in-house role, has been with the business ever since.

Dan said: “I love the variety and challenge of agency work, and I’m looking forward to taking on new responsibilities as I work with colleagues to take our business to the next stage of its development. I’m very grateful too to my fellow directors for giving me that first chance to work in the sector, and for the opportunities, encouragement and support they have provided ever since.”
