Tomahawk Steakhouse prides itself on serving the finest Himalayan salt-aged beef, including wagyu, alongside a feast of other local meat, fish and vegetarian dishes.

Open seven days a week, 9am until late, the new restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner alongside an early bird menu, plus a range of vegan and gluten-free dishes.

Tomahawk Steakhouse owner Howard Eggleston said: “Beverley was always high on our list as a new location for Tomahawk, so the team were thrilled when we were offered the opportunity to open at Flemingate.

“It fell into the mix exactly at the time when we were developing our expansion plans for 2020 and the way it has come together has been great.

“We’re delighted to have such a fantastic position location-wise, with amazing views of Beverley Minster from the front, and Flemingate’s on-site car park makes it easy to visit us any time of the day.

“We’ve had an unbelievable response on Facebook with over 4,400 followers and plenty of reservations before we even opened, especially for Mother’s Day.”

Tomahawk has seven restaurants in North Yorkshire and the North East, including in Newcastle and Darlington, with plans to open additional Yorkshire venues in York and Harrogate and another in Wilmslow, Cheshire.

The new Beverley restaurant opened on Monday, March 16, and has created 25 jobs. The independently owned steakhouse has 100 covers, as well as additional seating for 40 diners in the restaurant’s outdoor area.

Mr Eggleston added: “The opening at Beverley comes just as we launch our new menu.

“We have a brand new and hugely exciting partnership with master butcher Tom Hixson, of Smithfield in London, and, for the first time on our menu, we are delivering a delicious cut of Tom Hixson’s butchered Hereford beef that we hope will delight our new guests.”

Tomahawk is the latest addition to the line-up of restaurants and cafés at Flemingate, including Estabulo Rodizio Bar & Grill, Sumo Pan Asian, Firepit Smokehouse and Sports Bar, Pizza Baby, Deli No.1, Starbucks and Costa Coffee.

Owned and developed by Hull-based regeneration company Wykeland Group, Flemingate features big names such as Debenhams and H&M as well as being home to the East Riding College campus, an 80-bed Premier Inn hotel and a six-screen Parkway digital cinema.

David Donkin, Wykeland property director, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Tomahawk Steakhouse to the Flemingate community.

“Tomahawk will be an excellent addition to the centre’s already vibrant leisure offering and is a great fit for Beverley’s dining scene as a whole.

“The menu is mouth-watering and the fit-out of the restaurant is absolutely stunning. We’re sure Tomahawk will be a huge draw for locals and visitors to Beverley alike.”
