Airco nomination aids Daisy Appeal

19th Aug

The Institute of Directors (IoD) East Yorkshire Branch organised the lunch, which took place at the KCOM Stadium and attracted more than 300 people to listen to former England footballer Kevin Keegan as guest speaker.
Each table organised a collection and nominated a charity, with Keegan then drawing the names of the three charities to share the total proceeds of £2,500.
Neil Fisher, managing director of Airco, put forward the Daisy Appeal because of his personal experience of the charity and in recognition of its work in the Hull and Humber area.
Other charities which benefited were the WISHH Charity, selected by the University of Hull, and Cash for Kids, chosen by Forrester Boyd.
Claire Levy, fundraiser for the Daisy Appeal, said: “The charity is delighted to have been nominated by Airco. It gave us a great opportunity to get our name in front of an influential business audience of more than 300 and it is a brilliant way to raise awareness of the Daisy Appeal and the current appeal to complete the molecular imaging research centre at Castle Hill which will help to save many more lives in East Riding Yorkshire and North East Lincolnshire.”
Other speakers at the event were Pat Coyle, chairman of the IoD East Yorkshire Branch and director of marketing and client relations at Rollits, Jenny Howard Coombes of the Freedom Festival, and Jon Geldart, IoD regional chairman for Yorkshire and the North East.
Pat said: “We are extremely thankful to our guests for digging deep and raising so much to benefit these fantastic local charities.”
