Homes by Carlton to launch new site in County Durham

15th Sep

North East housebuilder Homes by Carlton has acquired land for a new 46-unit housing development in Sadberge, County Durham.

The scheme will be known as Saxon Vale and will comprise a mix of three, four and five-bedroom detached and semi-detached homes.

Construction is due to start on site later this year.

The development is in partnership with Karbon Homes’ Next Level Developments, who will be providing the full funding package for the development.

Simon Walker, managing director of Homes by Carlton, said: “Following our Joint Venture funding partnership for Woodberry Park in Staindrop, we’re delighted to be working with Karbon Homes’ Next Level Developments once again.

“I believe this funding structure is an excellent example of an innovative approach to enabling regional house builders like ourselves to deliver high-quality homes throughout the North East, providing prospective home buyers with more choice.”

Saxon Vale represents a £13 million investment and forms part of a £60 million commitment from Homes by Carlton to deliver high-quality homes throughout the North East, creating hundreds of jobs over the coming years.

Sarah Robson, director of development at Karbon Homes, said: “Through Next Level Developments, Karbon Homes’ Joint Venture funding arm, we are committed to supporting regional housebuilders in the development of much-needed new homes. The returns from this then support Karbon Homes’ continued investment in our affordable homes programme.”

This new venture builds on the success of previous projects, including Middleton Waters in Middleton St George, highlighting Homes by Carlton’s commitment to strategic growth and community development.

Emma Worth, development manager at Homes by Carlton, said: “With Saxon Vale following closely behind our Woodberry Park in Staindrop and Beauford Park in Witton Gilbert announcements, we’re making excellent progress on delivering on our £60 million commitment to build beautiful new homes in the region.

“Building in sought-after locations that have much to offer home buyers – from idyllic countryside surroundings to closeness to larger towns and cities – is imperative to us, and I believe Sadberge is yet another example of this.

“As we move through 2024 and beyond, we will deliver our pipeline of 500 new homes and continue to add to it through strategic land acquisition.
