North-East-based the Encore Group celebrated success at the Sunderland Echo Business Excellence Awards 2022 having been shortlisted in the Sustainable Initiative category.
The industry-leading experts in packaging solutions and envelopes were named winners of the category, in recognition of their ongoing commitment to measurable carbon and waste reduction.
The Encore Group is recognised throughout the industry for being the only envelope manufacturer in the UK that uses an independent carbon calculator. The group is also widely known for its sustainable packaging solutions working with climate and data experts Carbon Quota to provide precise carbon calculations and investing in carbon-offsetting projects with international conservation charity, the World Land Trust.
Managing director David Cooper said: “We are thrilled to have won the Sustainable Initiative category and have our environmental credentials recognised among North East businesses. Our increased focus on sustainable print and production and measurable carbon reduction is all part of our commitment to a 46% decrease in carbon emissions by 2027.”
As well as working towards Encore’s own carbon-reduction goals, the group, as part of the packaging supply chain, is able to provide well-known UK brands with innovative sustainable packaging choices that enable companies to stay on track with their carbon reduction targets.
In addition to this latest achievement, the award-winning packaging business was also awarded winner of the Process Colours Only category for its Givenchy L’interdit at the renowned Flexotech International Print & Innovations Awards 2022 held in London.
