Free security guard training on offer with SPS

19th Aug

People who are considering a career as a security guard are being encouraged to attend a free training course in Hull.

SPS Security is offering a four-day course at its training centre in Edgar Street from August 23-27.

This qualification is for people who want to work as a security officer and want to apply for a licence from the Security Industry Authority (SIA). It is based on the applicable SIA (which governs the private security industry), learning and certification specification.

There are many types of roles available with an SIA security guard licence, including:

• Manned guarding
• Mobile patrol officer
• Control room supervisor
• Key-holder
• Site security
• Retail security officer
• Front-of-house security/concierge

Security officers can continue their professional development and become:

• Security supervisors
• Security managers
• Contract managers
• Facilities manager

The course entitles the applicant to apply for an SIA licence. On completion, SPS Security will provide full support in obtaining an SIA Licence and the opportunity for various roles to join the company.
